Welcome

Welcome to lyssalynn13.com. I have recently updated this site. I know it has been quite some time since this site has had a face lift, so I thought I would take it upon myself to take care of this. Life had been busy and a lot has happened since Ross and I got married.

For now I am going to post this one page until I have updated the rest of my site. Please stop back to see more, as I promise to update and finish the site in a timely manner.

But before I leave you hanging, I'll provide you with a little bit of an update.

After our wedding, on October 14, 2006, Ross and I headed off to Canada for our Honeymoon. We stayed at a hotel over looking Niagara Falls in Ontario. This was both of our first times out of the country. We really enjoyed the falls and the colors were just spectacular. Upon returning from out honeymoon, Ross started his job at Brown Printing in Waseca, MN. Since we were living in Rochester, MN this meant it was an hour commute each way for him.

Our first year of marriage flew by quickly, and was filled with many memories and challenges. That summer brought many surprises including surgery for me and Viral Meningitis with a case of Mono to top it for Ross. But we have all recovered and are doing well. Around this same time, I left my position at Mayo in search of finding a more challenging career closer to Waseca in order to cut out the commute for Ross. That fall we decided to take our first cruise. With the recommendation from our travel agent, we took a cruise to the Western Caribbean for some well need R & R. We were amazed and absolutely LOVED the trip. Upon returning from our cruise I found a position with Marathon Multimedia, in Faribault, MN as a web developer. Shortly there after, we moved to Owatonna, MN where we spent the remainder of the year.

Then begins 2008. This year has also been very exciting and flying by quickly. Ross is still working at Brown Printing as an Applications Developer and I am still at Marathon Multimedia as a Web Developer. We both really like our jobs and the shorter commute is much better for Ross. After renting for about 6 months in Owatonna, we decided we needed more space and a place of our own. So in April we started to house hunt with the intention to possibly purchase a house by middle to late summer. Little did we know...Shortly after starting our house hunt and only a day before contacting a builder, we looked at a house that offered everything we wanted for a great price. But with everything that sounds too good to be true, it turned out the house we liked was a foreclosure. This offered many challenges along the way in the process of buying the house. But nearly a month after we were supposed to have closed, we finally received the keys to the house, just one day before we were to be out of our rental. But all said and done, we are finally moved in and pretty much settled. We absolutely lover the house and couldn't really ask for more. All the extra space is great!

With the new house we now are more relaxed and I have taken up several past times; the first being Softball and Volleyball. I play on an all women's softball and volleyball team 2 nights out of the week in Faribault. I really enjoy both of these and have met many great people. My next hobby is that of gardening. The house came with a plot dug up for a garden so we worked really hard turning it all over by hand in order to get everything planted. The garden is looking great. Finally, I now have the desire and time to work on my web development again. I'm hoping to get several more things updated that I was hoping to have already have gotten done.

This year is also flying by quickly. It is already half over and it seems like is has just begun. This means we are not far from our next trip. Last January, we booked our next cruise. This year we are going to Hawaii! We are really excited for this, and are ready for some R & R on the beach again.

But for now, that is it. I will update the site soon with more information. Please check back soon.
